A private beta for families living abroad

Organize the journey.
Keep the story.

BashoTerra helps families organize life across countries—from flights, stays, and travel documents to monthly expenses, children’s learning, and family memories. Built by a traveling family, it brings the details of life abroad into one place so families can feel more prepared, find what they need, and preserve the story of each stay.

Made for long stays, worldschooling, relocation, and the in-between days when your family is finding its footing.

When life gets spread out

International family life gets scattered fast.

“We keep them together in one place for you.”— Melody

A flight in email. A visa PDF in Downloads. Receipts in photos. School records in another folder. Notes on somebody’s phone. Before long, one parent is still carrying the job of remembering where everything went.

BashoTerra gives those pieces a home — organized around where you are, where you’re going, and what you want to remember when this chapter is over.

What you can do today

A working family organizer, not just an idea.

The current private beta already handles the everyday records families need to keep close. A larger combined update is being tested separately and is not presented here as released functionality.

Travel

Keep flights and stays together.

Manually record flight details, travelers, seats, baggage, booking references, accommodation information, host details and arrival notes.

Documents

Keep supporting files close.

Store travel PDFs and images such as confirmations, boarding passes, baggage receipts, visa-support documents and insurance files alongside the records they belong to.

Family life

Record more than the booking.

Maintain expenses, family profiles, journals, notes, dated country visits and Worldschool learning records so practical details and family memories stay connected.

Important: BashoTerra currently stores app information locally on the device/browser. It does not automatically cloud-back up or synchronize family data between devices.

A look inside the private beta

Built around the way family life abroad actually happens.

These screens are from the current BashoTerra private beta using a fictional demo family. The app is still being tested privately, but this is the product families are using today.

Move

Travel details, kept close when the day gets busy.

Keep flight details, travelers, booking references, baggage information, supporting files, and the stay they connect to together. BashoTerra organizes the information your family has already booked so you are not searching across apps and inboxes when it is time to move.

BashoTerra Country Chapters showing dated visits for Portland and Singapore for a fictional demo family

Country Chapters · Current private beta

Belong

Countries become chapters, not just pins on a map.

Each visit can become its own dated chapter, keeping the practical pieces and the memories of that stay connected. When a family returns to the same country, a new visit can become a new chapter instead of replacing the one that came before it.

Learn

Keep the learning and the proof together.

Record lessons, homework, tutor notes, progress, and portfolio evidence for each child in one place. Worldschool records stay in their own learning history rather than disappearing into travel folders or being folded into an archived country chapter.

Tools for families abroad

A little more structure for the parts you are carrying.

These printable BashoTerra tools are made for families preparing to move, travel, worldschool, settle in, and remember the chapter when it is over. Buy only what you need, or keep the whole system together.

Belong

Country Chapter Journal

A guided place to keep the part of travel that does not belong in a booking app — favorite places, discoveries, difficult days, family reflections, and the memories that turn a stay into a chapter.

The parts worth keeping close

Move. Live. Learn. Belong.

You already have enough to think about. BashoTerra keeps the everyday parts of international family life close at hand.

01

Move

Keep the details you need on travel days together — flights, stays, booking details, baggage information, and travel documents — so you are not searching for them when everyone is ready to go.

02

Live

Settle in a little easier with stay information, monthly expenses, local places, practical setup notes, tasks, and the everyday details that help somewhere new begin to feel familiar.

03

Learn

Keep your child’s learning journey in one place with records, worksheets, tutor files, progress materials, educational attachments, and the moments that show how much they are growing.

04

Belong

Hold on to the experiences, reflections, family memories, and journal entries that make each country more than somewhere you simply passed through.

One journey, four parts

The pieces make more sense when they stay connected.

Imagine a family spending six weeks in Chiang Mai. BashoTerra helps them keep the practical work and the human story tied to the same stay.

Move

Before arrival

Keep the flight, seats, baggage, stay and travel documents together instead of searching across apps and inboxes.

Live

While settling in

Track expenses and keep practical notes and places connected to the family’s time in Chiang Mai.

Learn

While exploring

Record a temple visit, tutor work or field lesson in the Worldschool Vault with notes and supporting files.

Belong

Before moving on

Keep reflections and journal entries with that dated country visit so the family remembers more than the itinerary.

Built while living it

Made in the middle of real family life abroad.

We are building BashoTerra while moving our own family across Asia. We know what it feels like to have a flight confirmation in one place, a visa PDF in another, school records somewhere else, and a hundred little details living in your head.

We wanted a quieter place to come back to — somewhere that could hold the practical things without losing the human story behind each country.

A little about where we are

A working app, still being carefully tested.

  • Available in the working app: Travel Vault records for flights and stays, document storage, dated Country Chapters, Worldschool Vault, expenses and budgets, family profiles, journals, notes, and English/Korean interfaces.
  • Being prepared for the next release: deeper arrival planning, travel-day timelines, Family Calendar workflows, backup/restore tools, expanded Korean coverage, and improved archival review are packaged in a combined review build.
  • What we are still checking: storage, responsive and accessibility behavior, Samsung phones, fluent Korean review, and final regression testing all need to be completed before that update is released.

For now, BashoTerra keeps information locally on the device/browser. Automatic cloud backup and family synchronization are not available yet, so we ask families to keep their own backup copies of anything important.

Simple on purpose

One place for what your family already trusts.

BashoTerra does not replace official visa, emergency, booking, or live-travel services. It gives your family one private place to organize the information you already trust and preserve the life happening around it. The details are in the FAQ.

A few clear answers

What private beta means right now.

Where is my BashoTerra app information stored?

The current beta stores records and saved attachments locally on the device/browser. They do not automatically transfer to another device or back up to a BashoTerra cloud account. Clearing browser or app data can remove locally stored information, so important files should also be backed up elsewhere.

Does BashoTerra book travel or provide live alerts?

No. BashoTerra organizes information your family already researches and books. It does not currently provide booking services, live traffic, live flight tracking, live exchange rates, official emergency alerts or official visa alerts.

What happens after I join Early Access?

You join our interest list. You do not receive immediate app access. We will contact you when family beta places or planning tools are ready to share. Joining the list does not commit you to purchase anything.

How does the Beta Tester thank-you work?

Selected testers receive initial beta access for the test. Testers who genuinely use BashoTerra for about one week and complete the requested follow-up feedback will receive continued beta app access for a total of six months from the date their beta access first begins. The Beta Tester program is separate from the Early Access list.

For more detail about website forms, local storage, deletion requests, testing status and contact, see Privacy & Beta Information.

A small real-world beta group

Help us test BashoTerra in real life.

We’re looking for a very small group of families to use the private beta for about one week and tell us what works, what’s confusing, and what gets in the way.

We’d be glad to have your family with us.

Join the Early Access list and we’ll keep you updated as BashoTerra moves toward public launch, including future access opportunities and new family-abroad planning tools. Signing up does not give immediate app access and does not commit you to a purchase.

Just occasional BashoTerra updates and early-access information. No public profile. Privacy & Beta Information.

We’ll only use this to keep you updated about BashoTerra.
